Motivational Monday

Happy Monday!
So I can not take credit for this one,
my cousin found this one last Monday and sent it to me,
I really love it so I decided it needed to be this Monday's quote.
"Happiness is letting go of what you think your life is suppose
to look like & celebrating it for everything that it is" - Mandy Hale.
For a long time, I had my life planned down to the "tee" (as the saying goes),
and it just started changing in many different ways,
it is not anywhere near what I had planned but I am still happy,
happiness comes within and if you live by a plan and that plan fails
then it can leave you feeling unhappy and life is short.
We cannot be unhappy because our plan changed,
plans change all the time,
we just need to celebrate it day by day.
Have a great week and celebrate the happiness :)

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday!
One my things to do for the New Year was to write more,
I have been completely slacking on that,
so here I am, starting over.
Which relates to my Monday post, now or never.
Many times we just push things aside knowing we may never get to them
and then complain later on about not doing it.
Which leaves us in the bigger part of the pie above ^
when we really want to be in the smaller part of the pie above ^
So which is it for you, on this Monday, now or never?

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday!
Are you ever afraid of doing something?
As if you might fail at doing it?
Well today's motivation is to just do it,
who cares about fear?
Fear can only stop you, if you let it!
Have a great week :)

Getting Work Done At Work

So I know that working at a desk all day can be tiring and distracting.
One minute, you're doing your work
and the next minute, you're staring off into space, bored.
(or on your phone, surfing the internet, hiding in the bathroom, etc)
I have worked at a desk job for a little over 3 years,
and I just started a new job this week (at a desk).

Some things I have learned about getting work done at the desk are;
-get up and walk a lap around the building
-stretch for a couple minutes
-make a to do list of all the things that need to be done
-open the shades to the window (if possible)
-once a task is done, toss the paper or file it away so it is off the desk
-once a task is done, delete the email if it's not important to keep
-check social media during lunch break and leave it until the work day is over

I know an 8 to 5 can feel like a long day
and by 1 to 3PM you are crashing and ready to just leave
but try a few different ways to continue on with the day
until you find one that works for you
and the day will be flying by and work will be getting done.

Good luck!

Motivational Monday

Monday again!

We are still in the first month of the year,
so trying to keep a positive year going,
try to remember that sometimes when one is healing,
they may wound another to feel better.
Take it with a grain of salt.
(I think that is the saying ;P)
Be motivational (not just on a Monday!),
be positive,
be helpful,
and try to remember healing is a process.

Happy Monday Guys!

Corporate Outings

Corporate outings can be on the tricky side,

for the employer and the employee.

At my previous job,
I planned a 3 day sales conference that involved 2 outings
and I planned 3 Christmas parties that were outside of the facility.

I quickly learned some do's and do not's,
I personally think these are important to remember
for the employer and employee.

Here's the list and explanations;

DO's
- provide transportation:
you never want an employee to get into a vehicle after they may have drank.
- provide food and beverage:
you do not want to plan an outing and then they have to pay for their own f&b,
I am not stating that you have to purchase their alcohol.
- make it fun:
try to make it pleasant and fun so it does not feel like a drag to your employees.
- take suggestions:
this can make it easier for the next time.
- make it mandatory:
work culture is important so your employers interacting with the boss can create that.

DO NOT's
- take your own vehicle (if transportation is being given):
you do not want to drink and drive, show up late, or leave early, your boss will notice.
- drink heavily:
oh please do not! this is still a part of work! be professional.
- swear / act inappropriate:
I repeat again, this is still a part of work!
- leave the group:
people will notice and it can be a hassle if you all came together.

Please just remember to be professional and respect your employers effort for the outing
and respect your employee for also putting effort into attending.
I hope this was helpful :)

New Year Resolutions?

Resolution:  a firm decision to do or not to do something.

A firm decision to do or not do,
majority of us will "not do" those resolutions
we made at the end of one year
that we planned for the next year.
I have not made a New Year Resolution in years,
because usually, I fail.

I am a person of lists,
I make lists for everything,
grocery, daily to - do, weekly menu, cleaning, work, etc.

So for 2016,
I decided to ditch this whole resolution shenanigans for good.
And I went ahead and made a list of things I do now,
but would like to do more of.

My list is as follows;
- write more
- work more
- volunteer more
- exercise more
- love more
- live more
- explore more

I don't want to set some resolution that I know I won't do,
I will probably forget it halfway into the year.
I want to do MORE in 2016.

I hope you all find a resolution or a list,
whatever is your preference,
and stick to it for 2016 and make the most of the year!

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday!

The first Monday in January.
I have been MIA for the past 2 Monday's,
just taking a small break to get my thoughts together.
But, I am back and ready for 2016!
I hope you all had awesome holidays :)

Now that the New Year is here,
it is the time to make resolutions,
do things differently than the previous years, etc.
Just remember, to be happy, not much is needed.
Happiness can be more present in 2016 than in any other year,
if you let it :)

Happy New Year, Happy Monday!

Have a great week!

Football Sunday!

Football is my favorite sport,

I love the food, the atmosphere, the screaming at the tv, the game, etc.
One of my friends usually does the hosting when it comes to big games
so I asked her opinion on my some football food essentials.

Together we decided these for the items you absolutely need to have;
- chips + dips
- wings
- mac + cheese
- sloppy joes
- pepperoni bake (find it below)
- soda
- beer (my favorite beer below)

Beer;
- My Love: Angry Orchard with a shot of Fireball
(perfect for the fall but I drink it year round ;P)

Pepperoni Bake;
-I have to give this credit to a user on Pinterest,
I did not make this up, but it is officially a favorite.

Spray inside of the crockpot with cooking spray.
get 1 can of Pillsbury Grands biscuits,
cut them up into small squares, layer the bottom of the crockpot.
cut 1/2 cup of pepperoni slices into halves, layer them on top of the biscuits .
take 1 jar of pizza sauce and dump inside crockpot.
add 1 cup shredded cheese and another 1/2 cup pepperoni slices on top of the pizza sauce.
place a paper-towel over the crockpot under the glass cover
put it on high for 1.5 hours or until the biscuits are fully cooked.

I know not everyone is as football crazed as me,
but next time your significant other wants to have people over
and you think "what am I going to feed these people?"
You have some ideas :)

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday! :)
I had a nice relaxing weekend,
I hope you all did too!
I have written before about traveling
and how I personally think it is so important
so every time I find a quote about travel,
I use it.
Investing in yourself is a must!
(Even if it does not involve traveling.)
But investing in travel is awesome.
I hope you all get a chance to invest in travel,
some of you may be doing that soon for the holidays!
I hope you all have a great week and get some traveling ideas flowing :)

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday!
I travel this week to my new home!
Traveling is by far the best thing I have ever done.
Before, I was stuck in my ways, I would always talk about vacation
but never really went on one.
Until recent years, I started exploring and I can't stop now.
But with the tragedies that happened this weekend,
it makes us fearful and sad.
Try to keep traveling, exploring, and doing new things
you will never regret it.

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday!
In a previous Monday post,
I talked about how time is extremely important.
I love quotes about time because I feel many people take time for granted.
Time is free but you can never get it back.
Have a good week :)

Long Distance Relationships

Since March, my husband I have only spent 35 days together.
At first, he was in boot camp, we saw each other for 4 days graduation weekend.
After boot, he was in training school for roughly 4 months,
we saw each other for 7 days in July
(when we got married!), thanks to the holiday!
When he was done in training school,
he got to come home and then we drove together to his first operational base.
We were together that time for 24 days.
Being separated is hard, but it could be worse.
Thankfully, the only time I didn't get to have constant contact was during boot camp.
The snail mail killed me, but it was over before I knew it.
Sometimes people ask me "how is married life",
I don't really know since we haven't been together for long to experience it.
Or people will ask "is it weird to not see each other",
well obviously it's weird,
imagine not seeing your spouse every day after knowing them for 11+ years and dating for 2.
Usually, I just make a joke about it to make the conversation less weird.
Some of the things that have made it work for us but not may work for others are;
(everyone is different)
- Facetime at least once a week, we would make up a time that was good for both of us, sometimes it would be Saturday at 1PM and the next week it may be Sunday at 4PM.
- Text each other as often as possible even if it is just a quick "good morning".
- Keep each other in the loop of what is going on in your lives, my husband would always let me know when he was having a test so I would text him "good luck today" or "how was your test?" and vice versa.
- Call each other a couple times a week, texting is not the same as having a one on one conversation.
- I sent my husband a care package full of candy for Father's Day from our dog and he sent me flowers for our "month-versary", it doesn't have to be extravagant or expensive, but it reminds them that you are thinking of them while being miles apart.
- Set those count downs! Reminding each other "25 days til we see each other!" can make you both excited.
Hopefully some of these tips help anyone who is in a long distance relationship.
Or someone who knows they will be in one soon.
Just remember, it will be over before you know it, I know it sounds insane but it will.
And, always keep in contact!

Motivational Monday!

Happy Monday!
I hope you all had a fun Halloween :)

My big move is in 16 days,
I spent my weekend packing.

I told my husband the worst part about moving
is that you can't take your friends with you.
All of my friends have been my friends for at least
9+ years, they're my tribe.

Appreciating the people who have stuck it out with you
is one of the most important things you can do for your friendship.
I advise loving your tribe hard :) <3

Motivational Monday

Happy Monday!
I think Mandy Hale is spot on with this one!
Yes, we are all busy,
we run around 24|7 like chickens without heads.
But when someone or something is important to you,
you will find a way.
So being too busy can't always be your excuse ;)
Have a good week!

Motivational Monday

It is Monday and a long weekend (for some of us!)
I am currently traveling, I am in Illinois at a rest spot
and I did not want to be late on my Motivational Monday post .... again.
I use to be a big collector of "things"
but as time has gone on, I have realized how great it is
to be a collector of "moments"
especially being on the road right now.
I know we can get caught up collecting "things"
but honestly, the "moments" are worth it so much more.
I hope you all have a great week and collect some moments!
